Blog #10 | Welcome back!

Welcome back UNH SEDS Supporters! It’s been quite a long time since we’ve had a meeting, but there are quite a few exciting things happening tonight that we’ve been looking forward to!

Tonight marks the first team meeting since the winter break, and we’ve decided to hold another recruitment info meeting for prospective new members to learn about the club. Many people choose to wait until second semester to join clubs until they’re settled in, so this meeting is primarily meant to be an introduction to the club for them. During this meeting, we had 12 new members attend as opposed to just 1 last year. There’s also a fun surprise in store for both new and old members from our finance incentives program! Since we raised over $25,000 our president, Charlie, is dying his hair bright red as a way to encourage more team fundraising.

In some news for the progress made over break, some of our members continued to work towards projects with large lead times in order to make lots of progress. These included projects such as machining of the combustion chamber, purchasing flow regulation parts and creating a more reliable hotfire test system, and finishing up our new promotional content.

Even though we only just got back, we only have a few months left until the UNH Undergraduate Research Conference and soon thereafter the Spaceport America Cup. As such, we will continue to push forward towards the completion of our hybrid rocket!
